Terms of Use

Last updated: 5th Aug 2026

These terms cover your use of the idphotos app, operated by IDPHOTOS. Using the app means you accept them.

What the service does

You give us a photograph. We check it against the published specification for the document you selected, tell you everything that passes and everything that does not, and — if you buy it — give you a file cropped and adjusted to that specification, or a printed sheet posted to you.

Checking is free, always, whatever the answer. You pay only for the finished photograph.

What we do not promise

We check against the specification published by the issuing authority, and we tell you what we found. We cannot promise that an application will be accepted. The authority decides that, and it can refuse a photograph for reasons outside the published specification, or refuse an application for reasons unrelated to the photograph.

If our check said a photograph passed and the authority rejects it on a point our check covers, tell us at contact@idphotos.studio. See Refunds.

Your photograph is yours

You keep every right in the photograph you upload. You give us permission to store and process it only to do the things described above, and only for as long as the retention periods in our Privacy Policy allow.

We do not use your photograph to train anything, and we do not use it to advertise.

What you agree to

  • The photograph is of you, or of someone you are entitled to act for — for example, your own child.
  • You have the right to upload it.
  • You will not use the service to produce a photograph for a document you are not entitled to apply for.
  • You will not attempt to break, overload, or work around the service.

Prices and payment

  • Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in Australian dollars, and include GST where it applies.
  • Payment is handled by Stripe or by the app store. We never see or store your card details.
  • Digital photographs are available immediately. Printed photographs are posted and typically arrive in 2–3 days.

Refunds

Australian Consumer Law gives you rights that these terms do not limit.

Beyond those, if a photograph our check passed is rejected by the issuing authority on a point our check covers, we will refund it. Send us the rejection notice at contact@idphotos.studio.

We cannot refund a printed order once it has been posted, except where Australian Consumer Law requires it.

Your account

  • You need an account only to buy.
  • You sign in with Apple or Google. There is no password for us to lose.
  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This deletes your photographs with it.
  • We may suspend an account we reasonably believe is being used to break these terms, and we will tell you why.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running, and we will not always succeed. Maintenance and faults happen. Where a fault stops you receiving something you paid for, tell us and we will put it right.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Beyond that, our responsibility for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the photograph the claim concerns.

Changes

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of NSW, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction.
